Iran Claims It Shot Down Israeli F-35 Fighter Jet, Releases Photo
Iran’s Tasnim News Agency has stirred global attention after releasing an image that it claims shows the wreckage of an Israeli F-35 fighter jet, allegedly downed by Iranian air defense systems.
The report, which surfaced late Friday, suggests that two Israeli F-35 jets were shot down by Iranian forces. According to Iranian military sources, one of the pilots has reportedly been captured alive.
Tasnim described the takedown as a "strategic response" within Iranian airspace and emphasized that the F-35 jets had breached its defense zone. The image showing wreckage has since gone viral on X (formerly Twitter), Telegram, and regional news networks.

So far, Israeli authorities have not issued any official response confirming or denying the claims. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) remain silent, fueling speculation about the authenticity of the photo and the larger geopolitical implications.
Military experts remain divided. Some warn that the images could be misattributed, reused, or staged for psychological or strategic impact. Others believe that if proven true, this could mark the first publicly documented downing of an Israeli F-35.
The F-35 Lightning II is known for its stealth, agility, and multirole capabilities, making it one of the most advanced combat jets globally. A successful takedown by Iranian defenses — if confirmed — would signal a major shift in the balance of airpower across the Middle East.
This is a developing story. Updates will follow as more verified information becomes available from international defense monitors and satellite imagery analysts.
