Shock and sorrow ripple across the world today as a London-bound Air India flight crashed shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad Airport. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, identified as Flight AI171, was carrying 242 passengers and crew members when disaster struck.
The crash occurred minutes after departure at around 1:00pm local time. Eyewitnesses near the Meghani Nagar area — where the aircraft went down — described the horrifying scene as flames engulfed homes and debris rained from the sky.

Authorities have confirmed that rescue operations are ongoing. While the number of casualties remains unconfirmed, the Indian government has launched a full investigation. Boeing officials are also expected to join the inquiry into what caused this tragic accident.
Families of the passengers are currently being supported at a crisis center in Ahmedabad, as the world mourns another aviation loss that has claimed lives and shattered peace.
